This ring is a reinterpretation of a historical form carrying the geometric ornamentation tradition of the Seljuk period. The motif on the plate is a small-scale representation of the characteristic rhythm seen in architectural surfaces and metalwork.
The aim of the design is not so much to create a new meaning, but to make an existing form visible again. The fact that the motif itself, rather than the stone, is at the center is a direct reference to the Seljuk understanding of surface design.
